The Det. Jason Weiland
Memorial Scholarship

The Det. Jason Weiland Memorial Scholarship was established by his family to honor the memory of their beloved husband and father.
Det. Weiland was a proud 1995 graduate of Wausau West High School and an alumnus of the Criminal Justice Program at North Central Technical College. His career in law enforcement began as a constable for Rib Mountain, a part-time officer for Marathon City, and a Corrections Officer for Marathon County. In 2002, he joined the Everest Metro Police Department, where he served as a patrol officer, then a corporal, and in 2012 was promoted to Detective.
As a detective, Jason was part of the County’s Special Investigations Unit and, at the time of his death, was serving as a general detective. Throughout his career, Jason was deeply committed to his community and passionate about creating a safe environment for families. More than anything, Jason loved being a police officer. He took great pride in mentoring others and was always eager to help fellow officers find answers, even when he didn’t have them himself.
In recognition of his dedication to service and mentorship, Jason’s family created this scholarship to support students who share his passion for criminal justice and community service.
